Add me to Search: Google's new feature lets users create virtual visiting cards

Google recently released a new feature for India - People Cards. A feature that helps everyone to create their own virtual visiting cards containing information like social media handles, website, interests and hobbies and much more.

People virtual visiting cards is designed and developed to help millions of individuals, freelancers, entrepreneurs, self-employed persons or anyone who wants to create his online presence and wants to be discovered and help the world find them. Users all over India can make their own People Cards on their mobile in English.

To ensure reliable and authenticated information, Google has taken certain measures and protections to maintain the quality of information on people cards. Measures include restriction on posting abusive or offensive content.

Each user will be able to create only one 'People Card', authenticated with the users mobile number. The user will have full control of his/her data to be displayed on the card and can quit out of it whenever he/she wants, consequently it will stop their details form appearing in searches.

How to create People Card on Google: 

Follow these steps:

• To create the People Card, sign in to your Google Account.

• Search "add me to search" on Google in your mobile.

• Click on "Get Started", to create your own virtual people card.

• After clicking on get started you need to verify your mobile number.

• After verifying, you will get the following screen, where you need to add all your details to create your people card.

• You will also get a option to upload your own profile picture.

The required fields to be filled are:

• Name
• Location
• About 
• Job
